What is Art for Life?

Art for Life is a civic association whose aim is to fight against AIDS / HIV.  It undertakes a unique scope of activities in the Czech Republic. The Association organizes exhibition sales, works of art auctions and cultural events. In previous years the proceeds from the sale received the Czech AIDS Help Society to support prevention and free AIDS/HIV testing. The past four years have brought almost one  million crowns. Media and public interest causes especially the calendar whose faces were such persons as Jiří Korn, Aňa Geislerová, Tatiana Vilhelmová, Rena  Langmannová, Ivan Trojan, Tonya Graves, Eliška Balzerová, David Kraus, Anna Polívková, Otto and Jiří Bubeníček and others in the past.

This year the Art for Life project will be supported by people such as Zuzana Bydžovská, J.P.Muchow, Dara Rolins, Vavřinec Hradílek, Jan Saudek or Tereza Černochová

The open association Art for Life was founded in 2008 by a designer Josef Čechota, a photographer Martin Kámen, a director Dan Kupšovský and a designer Jan Torsten Valder. Later they were joined by an editor Bára Trojanová and a PR manager Lukáš Sapík.

Through your purchase of the diary Art for Life DREAM 2013

For the year 2013 Art for Life prepares already the 4th calendar and diary, faces of which are eminent Czech celebrities. The theme “Dream” will be represented for exemple by Dara Rolins, J.P. Muchow, Vavřinec Hradilek, Dominik Nekolný, Iva Pazderková, Tereza Černochová, Mandrage. The photographs were taken of the calendar and diary DREAM 2013 are Tomas Trestik, Jan Saudek, Bára Prášilová and Matus Toth among others.

The calendar and diary will be ceremonially launched on 1 November 2012 .

Through attending some of the Art for Life 2012 benefit events

This year the concerts, author´s reading and theatrical performances will be ones of Art for Life events. This years´ programme is still being supplemented. The current version you will find in the section “Programme”.

THE PROCEEDS FROM THE ART FOR LIFE ACTIVITIES ARE AIMED AT THE SUPPORT OF THE FIGHT AGAINST HIV/AIDS IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC.

The money will be used for the awareness-raising campaign of the Life for Art association and for the activities of the Lighthouse of the Czech AIDS Help Society.

What will happen to money?

All collected funds in full amount would be aimed to support the prevention and fight against HIV/AIDS projects. All the Association´s activities costs are covered by our sponsors’ contributions. The Association’s members and organizers undertake all their activities for free, without making a reward claim. Association´s transparent account statements (operating and collecting) can be found here.
